A NEW AND BETTER WAY TO WORSHIP

A NEW AND BETTER WAY TO WORSHIP

John 4:23-24.  But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

There are great blessings and benefits in New Testament worship. There are literally no barriers, such as the veils of the Outer and the Inner Courts of the Temple preventing us from reaching God. Matthew 27:50-51. Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.  Jesus made worship of God accessible to true worshippers.

There are no rituals that must be practiced regularly, like the Fellowship Offering in the Old Testament, in order to have a relationship with God. As stated in 1 Corinthians 1:9. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

There’s no middle man, such as a prophet or priest, required to gain an audience with God.  1 Peter 2:9 says. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. As priests of the Lord, we can reverently approach God at all times

Most importantly, there is no fear of death when drawing near to God, as there was for Uzziah, because every sincere born-again believer is encouraged to come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16.

I implore you to worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness every day of your life.  Psalm 95:6-7.  Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand.

Prayer:

Gracious God,
You are seeking those who will worship You in spirit and in truth. Today, I come before You with a sincere heart, longing to know You more deeply and to honor You with my whole being.

Teach me what it means to worship—not just with words or rituals, but with a life that reflects Your truth and love. Help me to quiet the noise around me so I can hear Your voice and respond with reverence and faith.

Holy Spirit, lead me into deeper worship. Purify my heart, align my spirit with Yours, and let my worship be pleasing to You—not just in moments of praise, but in every act of obedience and trust.

For You, Lord, are Spirit—and I long to know You in spirit and in truth.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
